Posted by Rick MacPherson over at Malaria, bedbugs, sea lice and sunsets, it shows several divers practicing to be shark whisperers with one or more great white sharks. I've done a lot of diving and I've NEVER seen anything like this.
Riding the dorsal fin of a huge shark? Again and again? Patting it on the snout? I don't think this needs a "don't try this at home" warning.
I'll ask Rick where this came from. Tweet

i know nothing of the film makers or where this was shot... but it certainly gives one opportunity to reflect on some appropriate words by Jacques Cousteau:
"If human civilization is going to invade the waters of the earth, then let it be first of all to carry a message of respect."
Andy Murdoch from Shark Diver Magazine came to El Salvador in January where i hooked him up to get some diving shots, with the local fishermen, it did not happen, but I will try to get some myself,
shame the locals are now fishing for shark as the fins at $50 lb are wanted by the 'little dick' Chinese for soup for perceived virility solutions
and they are long lining for them, best i not see them
at least the meat we eat in ES , baked with butter and garlic, not bad,
but best when i get back to teach them other methods to fish, and leave the sharks alone
it sells for $2 in the large grocery stores and I am even seeing it here locally in Myrtle Beach, shame shame
